G-Ranks and Mogadishu Cantonment to Contest Gold Medal Match, as Major Gen. T.A Gagariga U-17 Basketball Classic Ends in Abuja



The 2023 Major General T.A. Gagariga Under-17 Inter- Barracks Basketball Classic ends on Saturday, with the losers final and gold medal matches to be decided.

Four youth trams, aged 17 and under - Mambilla Barracks, Luingi Barracks, Mogadishu Cantonment and G-Ranks Basketball Club from Bauchi, are the sides competing for honours at the Classic, which tipped off on Thursday, June 1, 2023.

Saturday, June 3rd is Day 3 of the three-day tournament sponsored by Major General T. A Gagariga.

7. Lungi Barrack vs Mambila Barrack 3pm

Final
8. G-Ranks Basketball Club, Bauchi vs Mogadishu Cantonment 4:30pm

Both finals are to be at the Gymnasium of the Mogadishu Cantonment, formerly General Sani Abacha Barracks.

Yesterday was Day 2 of the tournament, and there were two sessions - Morning and Evening - with a total of six games decided.

Luingi Barracks fell 42-50 to Mogadishu Cantonment; G-Ranks from Bauchi crushed Mambilla Barracks 49-23; and Mogadishu Cantonment rallied to beat Mambilla Barracks 35-31 despite trailing 16-18 at halftime.

In games decided later, G-Ranks out-dunked Luingi Barracks 36-31; Mogadishu Cantonment got thrashed 53-44; while Luingi Barracks triumphed 46-38 over Mambilla Barracks.
